Newbury Canoe Club organised a weekend away in the Spring 2022 to the picturesque Pembrokeshire coast for a beginners level sea kayaking expedition.
Our hosts near Haverford West were Preseli Ventures (preseliventure.co.uk).
Twelve members and friends of Newbury Canoe Club attended, covering all skill levels in the club.

The first day was picture perfect weather where sun cream rather than rain hats were required. Picking up the boats at about 9am, Preseli had an excellent range of sea kayaks and sit-on kayaks to suit all levels of ability. We were all well kitted for a day on the water with good quality gear (and a packed lunch).
Excellent support and hands on teaching came from two experienced guides who took us on tour of the Welsh coast, checking in on caves and riding the surf around the rocks before a lunch on an isolated pebble beach.
The return journey including some games to learn skills and teaching recovery at sea after capsizing.
A perfect day of kayaking ended with marshmallows being burnt around an open campfire.
On the second day, coasteering and hiking were on the agenda for a terrific morning.
Bravo to Cat Mulvany for organising an excellent weekend.
Bravo to Ed our Chairman for managing an eskimo roll!
In the future another course may be run where Preseli teach more skills and more open water experience.
